Yesterday we had a lovely walk around an Abbey from 12/13th century, looking in all the gaps of the half left buildings. Thomas and Amy loved being explorers around the ruins.
They ran off ahead so they could excitedly come back and find me hubby, Jess and the dogs and tell us what they have discovered. In Thomas’ words ‘Grown up come look what we found.’ Not sure where he gets the little sayings from, everyone else would be ‘mam and dad’ not ‘grown ups.’ They both call themselves ‘The little ones’ quite often too. We followed with smiles on our faces from their excited faces.
After having a little walk around the ruins, we then went down a track that goes besides the river and over the bridge to watch the fast flowing water go by. It was quite a cold day so we decided to head back after an hour as poor Jess had a red nose sat in the Littlelife backpack.
Was a lovely little day out, and the kids are asking when they can go again. I have a feeling we may be back here quite often for little walks.
