Cupcakes with chocolate spoons

My 2nd little delivery from Baked By Me was 6 spoon moulds. I bought these as 1 they look good, 2 it means i would have to cook more cakes to test them and 3 they are so easy to use!

An idea to came to my head, here is how it panned out;

It started with these,

Next job was to Make the cupcake mix and get them in the oven. Whilst they were in the oven it as time to melt the chocolate. Once melted it was then put into the moulds and in the fridge to set.

Cupcakes cooked, i think i may have over loaded them with mixture and the mixture spilled out over the top on some, hence where the not so round cakes come from. Perfection isn’t everything..

Next was to cut out a hole in the middle and get the orange melts melted and into the hole. Next job, get the chocolate spoons out of the moulds out the fridge and place into the cupcakes. This is the part i was testing. Would the spoon stay up or tip out? Would it melt  from the heat of the orange melts?

Well you will find out…

It worked! They got put straight back in the fridge as they weren’t to be eaten until after tea.
They were very yummy, but with them being in the fridge for a couple of hours it meant the orange melts were pretty hard in the middle. That one will need to be altered for next time.

Another big hit for moulds!
