Little Awol

Poor poor blog has been put on the back burner for a couple days.
Weekend we went to the hubbys relatives static caravan for the night with the kiddies. Kids LOVED it and thankfully behaved well. Jess was a little pain at bedtime, she decided it would be more fun to run around the bed and hide under the dining table. Once in bed she enjoyed kicking me and hubby, laying on us and fidgeting. Finally she gave in and went to sleep. I’m not a fan of sleeping with the kids as i always worry myself incase i roll onto them, every little noise i wake and have to check they are breathing.
Wake up during the night and see hubby. Eek, where is Jess! Jump up and notice she is at the bottom end of the bed, phew! Carry her back next to us, incase she moved and fell off the end.

Sunday when we came back from caravan, my mum and dad decided to pop round for couple of hours, whenever i see the mother, she always has some bargains to give me (shampoo/conditioner/body wash/make up..) So got my bag of goodies 🙂

Yesterday i didn’t do too much, just the usual school runs and boring housework. Why is housework SO boring? This is the point i hate about being a SAHM (stay at home mum, for future reference) the housework! It is so boring and yet needs to be done, and takes up the time during the day. I tidy up the toys to turn my back for 2minutes and ‘bam’ another bomb has hit the toy box! Jessica loves ‘helping’ mop. There has been many occasions i have found her with the mop, cleaning the carpets, eek!
Found a couple of lovely poems about SAHM housework on the internet, thought i would share, maybe brighten up someones day of housework duties.

‘Some houses try to hide the fact that children live there,

ours boasts of it quite openly, the signs are every where.

for smears are on the windows, little smudges on the door,

i should apologise for the toys strewn on the floor.

but i sat down with the children and we played

and we laughed and we read.

and if the windows do not shine, their eyes will shine instead.

and when at times I’m forced to choose one job or the other,

i want to be a housewife, but first I’ll be a Mother x

Author unknown.’

‘I hope my child looks back on today and sees a parent who had time to play

there will be years for cleaning and cooking, but children grow up when you’re not looking

so settle down cobwebs and dust go to sleep

I’m cuddling my baby and babies don’t keep’

So very true 🙂

Today i went to a new toddler group with the 2 girls, had some people knock on the door yesterday about it as it wasn’t getting people going. We were the only family who bothered to go but me and the kids had fun, and hopefully will keep up going every week, Halloween party next Wednesday so hopefully more people will go to that and meet more parents in the area and friends for the kids.
Amy decided to headbutt the car door when we were setting off to it, she then point blank refused to get in the car but also refused to go back in the house. Eventually she got in the car, and we got on our way. Decided to put the car tvs on (Fireman Sam) for them while we done the 10min drive to the group. The excitement on the littlest princesses face is priceless. Isn’t it lovely to see them excited over the littlest of things?!
